Sri Lanka and India will battle it out against each other in the first ODI on Sunday, July 18. The Indian team under Shikhar Dhawan has a good mix of experience and youngsters and they will be keen to start the series on a winning note.

For Sri Lanka, it would be important for them to find their winning ways. After getting whitewashed by England in their previous white ball series they would be keen to right the wrongs and make a comeback.

Team news

With Kusal Perera out injured, the immediate hole Sri Lanka have to fill is in their opening slot. Minod Bhanuka is expected to fill in as wicketkeeper, and Bhanuka Rajapaksa is likely to slot in alongside Dhananjaya de Silva and Dasun Shanaka in the middle order. Fast bowler Kasun Rajitha is back in the squad after injury, and should make it to an XI that will likely have spinners of all varieties.

Pitch and conditions
